Club Policies

  1. The robotics lab is open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week from 3:15pm to 4:45pm.  We encourage students to try and attend at least 2 sessions weekly, if possible, understanding that sports or other commitments may take priority.
  2. Please be respectful of volunteer adult time and ensure students are picked up shortly after sessions end.  We are sympathetic and supportive of emergencies but are not regularly responsible for students after they leave the lab.
  3. Club fees are set equal to all other MS (JV) or HS (Varsity) sports fees at CCA.  Club fees cover equipment, a team T-shirt, national VEX registration fees, and local competition fees throughout the regular season. If team(s) make it to the postseason, those more significant event registration fees will be covered by CCA and/or corporate sponsors.
  4. Parents or families are responsible for all transportation to/from all competitions or other events.  Regular season competitions will be “day” events within reasonable driving distance.  The Georgia State Championship (if applicable) is also a “day” event but may be at an extended distance where a hotel might be considered.  The World Championship (if applicable) is a multi-day event in Dallas, TX.  All travel, food, and lodging is the responsibility of the families who choose to attend.
  5. Students must meet all CCA eligibility requirements for extracurricular activities (including PASSING ALL CLASSES) to remain in the club.
  6. Excellent student behavior is required.  Have fun, but be respectful.  Coaches are volunteering their time to be in the lab, so we require students to be on-task and self-motivated.  Students who are goofing off or not being productive will be asked to leave.
  7. Students must sign CCA’s standard technology agreement for use of computers.  THIS IS YOUR WARNING: Do not install any software on a lab computer without asking an adult.  Do not use VPN software or other techniques to bypass CCA security measures.  Do not use the school laptops or network for anything inappropriate.
